Description

Built for AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). This connector is scoped to AACSB's own Blackthorn org and schema; it is not a general-purpose Blackthorn connector.
Imports sessions, speakers, registrants, and sponsors from Blackthorn Events into Engagefully.
Blackthorn runs inside the customer's Salesforce org, so this reads Salesforce directly. The integration sees only the records and fields its Salesforce user is permitted to see.
Sessions and speakers may be filtered by their Blackthorn status, and placeholder bundled sessions can be excluded.
Speaker photo, website, Twitter, and LinkedIn are each optional and off by default.
Registrants come from Blackthorn attendees and may be filtered by registration status. The registration type an attendee bought may become an Engagefully event role.
Sponsors may be imported either into the main Engagefully exhibitors module or as a custom content list. Blackthorn records sponsors but not exhibitors.
Optionally writes the Engagefully badge QR value back onto the Blackthorn attendee record. This is the only data this connector writes.

Built for AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). The schema in this client (object names, field names, namespace) is confirmed specifically against AACSB's Blackthorn org and is not guaranteed to match another customer's org.
Blackthorn Events is a managed package inside the customer's Salesforce org, so this connects to Salesforce rather than to a Blackthorn-hosted API. Data is read with SOQL over the Salesforce REST API.
The customer's Salesforce administrator creates a connected app for us and supplies its consumer key and secret. Client Credentials also needs a run-as user set on that app; the Password flow instead needs an integration user's login, password, and security token.
The integration reads only what the run-as or integration user can see. Missing sessions or attendees are usually record access or field-level security in Salesforce, not a fault here.
Blackthorn objects and fields carry the package's namespace prefix, which the connection settings supply. Some fields are added by the customer's own admin and carry no prefix, so they vary between orgs. Use Describe Object to confirm the real names.
Session times are read from the event-local date and time fields, not the GMT timestamp, because Engagefully treats session times as local to the event.
Salesforce meters API requests against a daily per-org allowance shared with the customer's other integrations. Get Api Limits reports current consumption; Get Api Versions reports which REST versions the org accepts.
